Carpet Binding

Carpet binding refers to the application of a woven cloth tape to the raw edge of a carpet. Atiyeh Bros. uses the finest materials available and generally attaches the binding to the carpet using a sewing machine designed for that purpose. We stock the binding tape in numerous colors so as to best match a variety of carpet tones. Tufted carpet backings today are typically weak and do not secure the binding tape in a durable fashion. Atiyehs reinforces the edge with a tape and latex strip to add considerable durability to the finished edge.

Carpet & Rug Serging

Serging is the continuous wrapping of the edge of a carpet or rug with yarn so as to secure the edge and give it a finished look. Wool or cotton are typically available in a variety of color choices. Atiyehs again reinforces the edge before the application of serging, so as to add durability to the finish.
